Bison on Spring Creek

18 x 24

This is a composite scene done near the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The bison have been transplanted (by me) from a locale a few miles away although the evidence of their presence at this scene was well underfoot, if you catch my drift.

Spring Creek emanates from a . . . spring. It pops up in the middle of nowhere miles from the nearest surface water. Its waters are augmented by other springs along and under its course and on this day was running out of its regular channel.

This area is one of the oldest human-inhabited places in North America.
