Southern Florida has many clear springs that erupt out of the underlying limestone. The water is crystal clear and cool. After a pleasant day of painting under the oak and palm trees along this gentle river I packed up my gear and headed back to the car. I climbed up to the trail and turned around for a last look and noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. Nearby and hidden from my painting spot, a medium sized alligator splayed on a tree trunk had shared the afternoon with me!
