Sunsets are often spectacular events no matter where they occur. San Luis
Valley sunsets have an added feature. Sitting between two mountain ranges, the clouds in the valley can be viewed in scale with the mountains, their relative distances marked by how they line up to certain peaks and ridges. I am sure the atmospheric confinements created by the two ranges affects many aspects to cloud formation and movements in comparison to other places, such as the unobstructed terrain of the open plains.
This was a special display one evening that deserved an ovation. |
